Bronze Bream or Common Bream (Abramis brama), are a European species of freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae. It is now considered to be the only species in the genus Abramis.
It can reach sizes of over 20LB in the UK wild (mainly due to the influx of high protein carp baits in specimen carp waters), but is much more likely to reach sizes of 14-16″ in a large Koi type pond.
A shoal fish, it is happiest grazing the bottom for food items. It will surface feed however, and this is becoming much more common in the wild as well.
