The Eurasian Ruffe (also simply Ruffe or Pope – Gymnocephalus cernua), is a freshwater fish found in temperate regions of Europe and northern Asia. Once very common in the UK it is not often seen now.

Ruffer are a small predatory fish that is very pretty. It feeds on live foods, molluscs, snails and small fish it can catch. Ruffe¬†exceed 6″ (15cm). Best suited to small natural ponds. It can also be a prolific breeder!
