Native Pond Fish Mix includes 3 of our most popular native species. You will receive 6 x Crucian Carp, 6 x Rudd, 4 x Green Tench and 10 Ramshorn snails. This selection is ideal for well planted wildlife ponds and are all native uk species that happily co-inhabit will local wildlife.
Crucian carp are notably in decline due to the influx of other carp and goldfish species that they will readily interbreed with. The Tench compliment Crucian carp due to their docile nature. Both, Crucian Carp and Tench are frequently found together in the wild. Whilst Rudd complete the selection fish wise with their surface feeding antics and bright red fins. In due time, ramshorn snails will provide a self sustaining population of clean up crew to keep on top of blanket weed and detritus.
Most of the included species will breed in a well set up, planted garden pond. Perfectly adapted to the UK weather and can tolerate the winter and enjoy the summer. This selection is an ideal selection to establish a native fish pond.
We cannot ever recommend ‘Goldfish Bowls’ as a suitable living space for any fish!
