Glass Mirror Carp (Cyprinus carpio)  are very hardy. Mirror Carp can reach large sizes so need a good sized pond with plenty of air, Filtration and food.

In the UK Mirror Carp have been known to reach sizes in excess of 65lbs! They are a long lived species even in ornamental ponds. They grow rapidly for the first 3-4 years and start to slow once mature.

Glass Mirror carp are a naturally occuring, but rare variation where the fish has not obtained the gene to produce the metallic colour. They appear almost translucent as juveniles and become very dark, almost black fish, when mature.
